Thank you. I always think 8 colours v 16 colours and more free memory.Fool-DupleX a écrit : ↑31 août 2022 12:51 Mentioned earlier, but let me emphasize that the TO7 and the TO7-70 are very different machines.

Re: Purchasing a TO7/70
Thanks Samuel,
Now it's clear. Wow, that must have been a lot for families to afford in the 80s.

Re: Purchasing a TO7/70
490 or 550 French Francs seems exceptionally good value Daniel. At the time the British pound was worth around 10 French Francs so that's around the equivalent of £49 to £55 British pounds. At the same time the Sinclair Spectrum was £125 British Pounds. Were the machines subsidised by your Governmen...

Re: Purchasing a TO7/70
Thanks everyone. It seems very odd to supply a computer with a version of BASIC that didn't support the new extended features of the machine.
I suppose it's like the Texas Instruments TI-99 with it's optional extended BASIC
I use BASIC 128 when emulating the TO7/70 in the excellent dcmoto.

Re: Purchasing a TO7/70
Did the TO7/70 ship with BASIC 1.0 as default? I'm surprised at this, as it doesn't seem to support the 16 colours from BASIC. Was BASIC 128 an optional extra?
Thanks
Thanks

Purchasing a TO7/70
Hi, I'm in the UK and am considering purchasing a TO7/70. Any tips of what to check for when purchasing from eBay would be most useful. I obviously want to check a BASIC Cartridge is included. During my investigations I have found that some have dark (TO7 type keys), others light colour full keys. W...

Re: Thomson TO7 - SCREEN (X,Y)
Thanks Daniel,
That's very clear. If I plan my graphics carefully along with use of Pen and Paper I should be able to use the POINT Command.
The ability to have different colours in each 8x1 pixel area is very impressive. Especially for an 8-bit machine.

Thomson TO7 - SCREEN (X,Y)
Greetings, My understanding is that the SCREEN (X,Y) does not work with characters which have been defined with DEFR$. For example the following code returns 65, and 0. Is there any alternative to SCREEN(x,y) for defined characters, or can I tell the pen and paper at any character space. Is the only...

Re: BASIC 128 Point Command
Thank you for all the help. I'm very impressed with the increased colour range of the TO70/70. The vast majority of other 8-bit computers of the time only offered 4 colours at 320 x 200. If you wanted more colours you often have to deal with a lower resolution (like with the Amstrad CPC). My beloved...

Re: BASIC 128 Point Command
Hi Daniel, Thanks for the reply. So I have written a very simple piece of code: 5 cls 10 for a=0 to 15 20 color a,15-a 30 print "*"; 40 next a 50 for x=0 to 127 step 8 55 print 60 print point(x,0);" "; 70 next x So if I understand correctly 0 would relate to black Ink, -1 would r...

Re: BASIC 128 Point Command
Thanks Oliver. That make sense as the Color command sets the border, foreground and ink colours.

BASIC 128 Point Command
Greetings, Please could I ask for some help with the Point command. I have translated the French from the BASIC 128 manual and the translation I get is making sense to me: the number is positive if the point belongs to the shape, negative if it belongs to the bottom: https://i.ibb.co/ww6jh3v/point.p...
